      Weeweechu

I read a story this week about a young man named Huan Cho and his girlfriend Jung Lee. One beautiful December evening the couple was sitting by the side of the ocean. A romantic full moon glistened down on the incoming waves. Huan Cho took Jung Lee's hand and said "Hey baby, let's Weeweechu."

"Oh no, not now, lets look at the moon" said Jung Lee.

"Oh, c'mon baby, let's Weeweechu. You know how I like it and this is the perfect time," Huan Cho begged.

"But I would rather just hold your hand and watch the moon."

"Please Jung Lee, just Weeweechu with me once."

Jung Lee looked at Huan Chi and said, OK, let's Weeweechu."

Happily, Huan Cho grabbed his guitar and they both sang . . . . . "Weeweechu a merry Christmas, Weeweechu a Merry Christmas, Weeweechu a merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year."

      Gro-o-a-a-n-n!

Ok, maybe you didn't see that one coming; but this is the perfect time for me to wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. I would also like to remind you that this is also the perfect time to remember the reason for the season. And I don't think it could be said any better than what was written almost 2000 years ago by a man named Luke:

About that time Caesar Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Empire. This was the first census when Quirinius was governor of Syria. Everyone had to travel to his own ancestral hometown to be accounted for. So Joseph went from the Galilean town of Nazareth up to Bethlehem in Judah, David's town, for the census. As a descendant of David, he had to go there. He went with Mary, his fiancée, who was pregnant. While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. She gave birth to a son, her firstborn. She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger, because there was no room in the hostel.

There were sheepherders camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God's angel stood among them and God's glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, "Don't be afraid. I'm here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David's town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you're to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger." At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God's praises:
Glory to God in the heavenly heights,
Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.
As the angel choir withdrew into heaven, the sheepherders talked it over. "Let's get over to Bethlehem as fast as we can and see for ourselves what God has revealed to us." They left, running, and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger. Seeing was believing. They told everyone they met what the angels had said about this child. All who heard the sheepherders were impressed.

Mary kept all these things to herself, holding them dear, deep within herself. The sheepherders returned and let loose, glorifying and praising God for everything they had heard and seen. It turned out exactly the way they'd been told!

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
